Jul 2012 to Oct 2013
Client:
EARSC / ESA
The European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) has recently completed a comprehensive survey of the size and health of the European Earth observation downstream industry – the first such analysis that has been undertaken since 2007. The analysis charts the evolution of the industry in financial and employment terms, analyses the main activities of the sector and identifies the key strategic issues facing it. Assimila worked as an integrated member of the project team, offering advice based on undertaking similar surveys in the past. The work included definition of the indicators to be used, definition of the survey required to collect the evidence, quantitative analysis of the results and contributions to the final report. The results paint a comprehensive picture of the European Earth Observation industry, including satellite operators, data distributors and value added applications companies.
